Accessibility
Access CVC provides training
and technical support, including online resources associated with the creation
of accessible video and Web-based distance education. Additionally, ACVC
provides a help desk, extensive Web-based resources for creation
of accessible distance education, associated list servers, chat
rooms, and other online resources.
A-Prompt (Accessibility Prompt) is a software
tool designed to improve the usability of HTML documents by evaluating Web pages for accessibility
barriers and then providing developers with a fast and easy way to make the
necessary repairs.
Bobby
is an accessibility checker provided by Watchfire (who acquired Bobby from CAST) to help Web
page authors identify and repair significant barriers to access by individuals with disabilities.
Bobby has a free online checker (one page at a time) as well as a version that can be purchased
to check multiple pages. Another tool from the Watchfire folks who put out Bobby is WebXACT.

CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology)
is an educational, not-for-profit organization that uses technology to
expand opportunities for all people, including those with disabilities.
CCC Live Caption, funded
by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, supports increased
student access to distance education by providing reimbursement funding
for real-time captioning of live courses in the California community colleges.
Distance
Education: Access for Students with Disabilities published in August
1999 by the Chancellor's Office of the California Community Colleges;
addresses issues related to assuring accessibility for students in technology-mediated
distance education classes, including online courses.

101 by Sean Keegan is a brief introduction to the practice of making
web content accessible for individuals with disabilities and why it is
necessary to integrate accessibility into web page construction. Presentations
include tutorials in the following: Creating Accessible Adobe PDF documents;
Creating Accessible Data Tables; Accessible Colors on the Web; and Representing

Information Technology, is a free online course that includes a web accessibility
self-assessment and instruction for achieving compliance with various

CCC Confer provides e-conferencing to the administration,

CCCApply is a service provided free of charge to help
students and their families plan for college.
CCCSAT is a statewide initiative established by the
California Community College Chancellor's Office,the mission of the California Community
Colleges Satellite Network (CCCSAT) is to provide the highest quality digital
telecommunications delivery system for distance education
in the State.
The California Virtual Campus centers support the design, development, and delivery
of online instruction through training and services to California community colleges
and their faculty, staff, and students. The goal of the CVC is to assure the availability
of high quality, accessible distance learning opportunities for California community
